Rope of Obedience

Tie the rope around me, Lord,

tie me to Thee;

I thought that, by myself

I could swim in this sea.

I had loosened the rope

thinking I would be free

but now without the rope, Lord,

I’m in captivity.

I wanted to be like others

and swim freely in this sea

but now I realize, Lord,

there’s nothing beneath me.

I’ve learnt my lesson-

I’m coming back to Thee;

I never want to be left

Without the rope in this sea.

Tie the rope around me, Lord,

tie me to Thee;

my movements will be restricted,

but I will be free.

 DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT WHEN YOU PRESENT YOURSELVES TO SOMEONE AS SLAVES FOR OBEDIENCE, YOU ARE SLAVES OF THE ONE YOU OBEY, EITHER OF SIN RESULTING IN DEATH OR OF OBEDIENCE RESULTING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS?                         ROMANS 6:16
