WHAT IS LIFE ?
Bro. Michael Jacob
our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. - Psalms
Psalms 90 is one of the oldest Psalms, written by Moses while the
Israelites wandered 40 years in the wilderness. Coming back to our meditation verse we
see, life is likened to a tale that is told. Here we see the answer to our
question. The tale is not read but told. Normally reading takes more time than telling.
See how beautiful the word of God is. Is it not our duty to realize how we have placed
this short life before our creator?
Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ to understand the exact
meaning of this verse, we should go after the characteristics of a tale.
- Long tales and Short ones
The people of the world measure life by years. But this is not
man's actual life. As you know we measure a story by pages, God measures life by pages
written about he or she in His books. He extends some peoples life to fulfil His work and
cut shorts some when He has completed His work through them.
- Dull tales and interesting ones
Some tales would grab the interest of the readers and makes them
feel excited. So is life. Life is full of changes, ups and down's. This makes it exciting.
An unaffected life remains as a dull tale. Our God leads us through many trials ,
experiences to make our life exciting.
A book may be a good one or a bad one. God leaves this choice to
us. Remember, we have only one life. Why don't we choose the way pleasant to Our Lord's
HOW CAN MY LIFE BE A GOOD AND BENEFIC TALE?
Dear people in Christ, to produce our life as a good and
interesting tale we should place our Lord Jesus as the right author. The next
consideration is, we should have a right object. What should be the object of our
life? It is nothing but analyzing. Are we doing everything for the glory of God?
Children of God man's days are like the days of a hireling (Job
7:1). Why should'nt we sacrifice this short time for our creator and our Lord.
What kind of tale is your life telling?
"For whoso findeth me findeth life and shall obtain favour
of the Lord" (Prov-8:35)
